We have a pink dogwood tree in our front yard, which we feel is pretty special because most of the dogwoods on our street are white.  There is something about the simplicity of the dogwood blossoms that I find to be very appealing.

The blossoms of a day lily may not last very long (one day), but they can be very bright and beautiful.  One of the brighter day lilies we have in our yard is Fooled Me.  This poster is based on a photo taken in June, 2012.

Betsy and I had planned to go to Cashiers, North Carolina, over Valentine Day, but 14 inches of snow in the mountains on western North Carolina caused us to postpone that trip.  We finally made it to Cashiers in mid-March.  We had hoped to see Whitewater Falls on March 19, but thick fog prevented us from making that visit.  Fortunately the weather cooperated on March 20, when I took the photo on which this poster is based.

Betsy and I visit the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, several times a year, and we almost always visit the Conservatory.  This poster was based on a photo I made last January of some of the beautiful foliage in the Conservatory.

Blackwater Falls State Park in West Virginia is a wonderful place to visit.  We’ve been there twice and have enjoyed the beautiful waterfall which gives the park its name.  This poster is based on a photo taken in September, 2011.

The picture on which this poster was based is shown below.

Betsy and I saw our first significant autumn color when we visited Harpers Ferry a couple of weeks ago.  This poster, based on a photo I took from the parking lot of the Visitor Center, shows some of that beautiful early color.
