After what (for us) was a hard winter, it’s nice to see some signs of Spring in our yard.  These are some of the first flowers to bloom for us this year.

Although Betsy and I now have many daylilies in our yard, my Dad gave us our first ones shortly after we bought this house.  He didn’t know the name of the daylily, so we simply call it Dad Adams in honor of him.

The picture on which this drawing was based is shown below.

While we have many beautiful lilies in our yard, I thought this black-and-white photo does a great job of bringing out the raindrops clinging to the blossom after a short summer shower.

The blossoms of a day lily may not last very long (one day), but they can be very bright and beautiful.  One of the brighter day lilies we have in our yard is Fooled Me.  This poster is based on a photo taken in June, 2012.

We’re fortunate to have some  azaleas around our house.  The bushes aren’t very large, but the blossoms are beautiful.  We always look forward to the way the brighten a sunny Spring day.

This painting is based on a photograph of a pink azalea taken in April, 2011.

Last year Betsy picked out some new daffodils for our yard.  Quail Daffodil is a bright yellow daffodil with blossoms that last and last and last.  The blossoms are smaller than some of our daffodils, but they are definitely cheery and have a pleasant fragrance.
