My daughter Kelly and her husband Chuck took Betsy and me to the Peach Festival near their home in the Buffalo, New York, area during a visit in September, 2011.  This midway ride was very popular, but I decided I would keep my feet firmly on the ground and fulfill the duties of photographer.

The picture on which this drawing was based is shown below.

Santa must have thought we were both very good this year, judging by all the goodies found under our tree on Christmas morning.  We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year, and we hope all of you did as well.

Our tree is decorated and there’s a fire in the fireplace.  The only thing missing (as far as Betsy is concerned) is snow.

We both wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, has a big Festival of Lights during the Christmas season.  Betsy and I have enjoyed the beautiful displays for a couple of years.  Last year we found this beautiful Christmas tree in front of a motel on the main drag.C

The Fourth of July means fireworks for many Americans, and we have a Fourth of July fireworks display each year here in the Glade.  It is very well attended by residents and visitors alike.  This painting is based on a photo from my archives of the fireworks a couple of years ago.

Betsy and I enjoy exploring the back roads wherever we travel, but we also enjoy the back roads here on the Plateau as well.  We came upon this scene while driving through Grassy Cove here on the Plateau.
