This drawing of a Starfish plant is based on a photo taken last year in the Conservatory of the Biltmore House and Gardens in Asheville, North Carolina.  We visit the Conservatory each time we visit Biltmore, and this time we spent some time enjoying the different succulents being grown.

We haven’t gotten much snow here on the Plateau this winter (much to Betsy’s disgust), but earlier this month we got a couple of inches of snow.  This painting is based on a photo I took on the morning of January 6 of the fairway behind our house .

Conservatory Foliage

Betsy and I visit the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, several times a year, and we almost always visit the Conservatory.  This poster was based on a photo I made last January of some of the beautiful foliage in the Conservatory.

Vault of Heaven

The Imperial Vault of Heaven sits in Beijing’s Temple of Heaven.  The Vault of Heaven was built in 1530 and housed tablets used in the Ceremony of Worshipping Heaven.

Last January Betsy and I spent a couple of days in the Smokies and did some hiking along the Little Pigeon River.  l captured this picture of the river near the turnoff to Ramsey Cascade in the Greenbrier section of the park.

Biltmore Orchid

We can’t visit Biltmore House and Gardens in Asheville, North Carolina, without spending time in the Conservatory.  One of our favorite rooms in the Conservatory is the Orchid Room.  The wide variety of orchids is always amazing, and the colors and detail are beautiful.  We always come away with many photos.
