Looking Toward Beijing

When I first visited China in 1987 I was shooting slides.  And although I have scanned slides, the results aren’t always satisfactory.  But after doing some experimenting,  I thought this view of Badaling Pass looking toward Beijing, taken from the Badaling Gate of the Great Wall, looked pretty good as a ‘vintage’ black and white image.

The Hensley Settlement in Cumberland Gap National Park is a historic homestead community on top of Brush Mountain.  While walking through the community Betsy and I saw this homemade gate across a path leading to a pasture.

Cades Cove Methodist Church

Cades Cove is one of our favorite parts of the Smokies.  We try to get there a couple of times each year, especially when the cove is a little less crowded.  I got this view of the Methodist Church in Cades Cove from Rich Mountain.
