Sweetness Rose

Sweetness is one of the newer roses in our yard.  It has a pretty lavender color and a mild fragrance.  It’s a grandiflora rose, and was the 2009 Rose of the Year for Jackson & Perkins.

Sunrise on Gaither Mountain

While we were in Arkansas in August, Betsy and I got up early one morning and drove to an overlook on Gaither Mountain to watch the sunrise.  It was a beautiful sight.

Blue Moon

Did you see the full moon on August 31?  No, it didn’t look exactly like the photo above, but since it was the second full moon of the month, it qualified as a blue moon and I couldn’t resist having a little fun with Photoshop.  This was the last blue moon until 2015.

If you did see the full moon, I hope you remembered Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon.  Armstrong died on August 25.
